Clwyd Branch

The Clwyd branch covers NE Wales, including Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham Maelor. Clwyd branch covers planning issues as far west as the River Conwy.

Clwyd branch runs a varied programme which begins in the spring and includes garden visits and talks. New members are welcome to meet us at any event. Advance booking is required for most events.

From the back of the Hall, you can cross the playing field and climb over a stile to visit the garden at Llanerch y Felin kindly hosted by Frank Chambers and Jane Parry-evans.

From Llanerch y Felin, it is a short walk along the track to the Gwesty Tŷ Gwyn.

This is a pretty garden in the Wheeler Valley developed from the nineteenth century.
There are bee boles and a duck house - and Sue has a fine garden sloping down from a terrace surrounding the house.

For the first time in WHGT history we are cancelled our visit to Bryn Aron Hall  due to extreme heat.

Thursday July  23 at 2.00pm   

Members will be able to explore a seven acre garden. Parts date back to the early C19 with mature trees inc oaks, wellingtonia, Acacia robinia and an orchard. Since 2020 the owners have brought back and cleared an area neglected for decades which would have been part of a formal garden. 

There are herbaceous borders, rose parterre, summerhouse and ponds leading on to a wildlife area where over a 100 trees have been planted.

This garden is set in the beautiful valley of the River Ystrad. You approach the house alongsde wildflower meadows. A beech tree woodland lies across the river from the lawn and gardens surround  the house.  There is a small walled garden and some beautiful planting with a collection of hydrangeas.
