Brecon and Radnor Branch
The Brecon and Radnor branch ....
Monday 8th April, 2.0pm Visit to the Elan Valley Lakes LD6 5HP, followed by the Branch AGM and tea.
Meet at the Visitor Centre at 2pm for an introductory talk on the history of the reservoirs and how it all came about. We shall then drive up the valley past the bottom lakes, Caban- coch and Garreg-ddu, and walk up to the higher lake, Penygarreg, for a tour of the dam both across it and inside it. NB There is parking for about four cars at Penygarreg Dam for those who are reluctant to walk, otherwise it is a shortish walk and climb up to the top of the dam. Stout footwear is recommended and it is hoped to squeeze into a minimum number of cars.
Stop Press! After the tour of the dam we are having to change our venue for the AGM and tea to The Elan Valley Hotel, this is about one mile short of the Elan Valley village, on your right. Timings are the same, ie Meet at 2 pm at The Visitor Centre. Copies of the agenda and last years minutes are being sent to all those who are coming.
£10 Includes tour of the lakes and tea (AGM free to members).
